Spindles and Wheel Angle (Gather) By Tony Cimorelli | ||
Later ('27) Spindle
|
![]() 1926-27 Spindle I found a set of these spindles at the swap meet. They were different than the ones on my car. The angle was so great that the tires were wearing on half the tread on the outboard edge. The angle appears to be different. You can see the lop-sided tire wear. The front tires were really "bow-legged". The installed spindles are of the 1918-1925 style - narrow snout on the top and bottom where the bushings are pressed in. The angle is more pronounced for the 30" wheels. Putting on the later spindles flattened out my front wheels. My deduction is I have a later axle and the spindles are unique to the axle.
