The Making of the Flower Power Cruise Chat Bears

Since I have made bears in the past and they were such a hit, I decided to make one for the Flower Power Cruise 2022, as the Flower Power Cruises for 2020 and 2021 were postponed, due to Covid. I did make them for 2020 but, alas, they sit in a box till 2022.

My first idea of a bear is when I located a source of a tie-dye bear.  This bear is 6 inches high (sitting), very soft, and rather cute.

My "go-to" product for design is Inkscape.  This is a vector-based graphics progam (which is free).  I also have the Adobe Creative suite but Inkscape is easier.

Here is the bear I made for 2020

I crafted a design that I thought would compliment the guitar pin I made.  I provided this to the manufacturer as an Adobe Illustrator (.ai) graphic with CMYK colors.  I also provide the Inkscape .svg and a .png file if there are any questions of the graphics are from different versions of software and not 100% compatible.

After a period of time the product arrives and this is what you get. Extreme shipping delays were encountered as containers sat off-shore awaiting warehouse space.

Of course, Groovy does have his own Facebook page  Groovy Bear's Adventures

I also made some prototype bears for the Rock & Romance Cruise and the Ultimate Disco Cruise. If you are the first to find one onboard the cruise, you can win one.

Finally, I got a Cricut and was experimenting with making my own shirts.  This is the result. The lineup and ports have just changed so back to redesign.
